Overview
Installing the QueryPie Agent allows you to use SQL clients like DataGrip and DBeaver. Users can connect to databases using QueryPie’s web SQL editor or their existing tools with proxy credentials generated by QueryPie. This allows for controlled and secure access across various user environments, with logging and policy enforcement.
Download the Agent App
QueryPie Agent supports Mac, Windows, and Linux OS.
STEP 1 After logging into QueryPie, click on your profile in the top right corner and select the Agent Download
button.
STEP 2 Download the installation file suitable for your PC's operating system.
Connecting to a Database through the Agent
Precondition: The Proxy Usage option for the corresponding connection must be enabled in the DB Connection menu.

Use QueryPie Registered Account: Generates proxy connection information based on the DB username/password saved in the connection settings by the administrator. Users can connect through the proxy using an Agent or the generated Proxy Credential information.

Use Existing Database Account with Agent: Allows users to connect using their existing DB username/password. Proxy connection information is generated, and users can connect via the Agent using localhost and port details.
STEP 1 Enter the QueryPie URL in the QueryPie Host input field and click the Next
button.
STEP 2 A web browser will open. Enter your credentials on the login page and click the Continue
button.
STEP 3 Upon successful login, a login success screen will be displayed, and you will return to the Agent.
STEP 4 You can view connection information for authorized connections in the Databases tab of the Agent app.
- Click on the
port
assigned to the connection to view the Proxy Credentials.
STEP 5 Enter the connection information in a 3rd party client to establish a DB connection.
